why you thrift

Holy cow, we almost forget to tell you about all the amazing things we found at Value Village last weekend. Almost. It’s just taking us some time to recover from all of those holiday parties.

A full post will be forthcoming, but for now, a brief lesson on why you thrift. Case: women’s plaid ‘boy’ shirts.

Do not buy them new. Seriously people. Thrift stores are filled with things that little boys have grown out of, because that’s what boys do: grow. And a boy’s size 14 is a practically a women’s medium.

Of Two Minds cotton shirt, on sale at CUSP: $142

‘Vintage’ boys plaid shirt at Value Village / Unique Thrift: $2.99

As fancy? No. But think what you can do with that $139 you didn’t spend!!
