merin: day 18 \ shoeaday

This picture almost didn’t happen. The one on the right, that is. And the story behind why that is really helps illustrate why I am who I am now.

So I’m at my grandparents house, spending some quality time in California. And since I need to report my shoe/outfit choice to you folks, I asked my 85-year old grandmother to take a picture of me.  Her response: “I’m not going to take a picture of you wearing those shoes with that dress. They don’t match. You should wear them with wool tights in the winter, that would be cute, but this is dreadful.”

Now I love my family, I really do, but do we wonder how I am remotely normal (I guess its a relative term) with a family like mine? And this from my least fashion-critical grandmother. The other two are much more outspoken about clothes. Not to mention my step-great-grandmother.Yes, I basically have four grandmothers. No, I won’t explain it to you right now.

Which brings me to my thought for the day: I have to believe that people who have therapists make terrible bloggers. And those of us who can’t afford therapists, well, we blog.
